Haikou promotes its green life at Beijing horticultural expo

Under the theme of "New Haikou's Beautiful Green Life", the "Haikou Activity Day" event, which aimed to increase global exposure of the Hainan province capital and promotes the city's green life, was held at the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition on July 22.

The special event was inaugurated with a promotion video of Haikou, which drew the attention of many tourists from home and abroad.

 "Haikou Activity Day" not only showcased Haikou's first-class ecological environment to visitors of the Beijing horticultural expo, but also featured song and dance performances, intangible cultural heritage shows, experiences for visitors to feel the charm of Haikou's tourism offerings and international wetland, as well as tastings of Hainan tropical fruits and specialty products.

"I think that Haikou's tourism promotion is very creative and romantic; it makes people feel the romantic atmosphere," said Wang Haining, a visitor to the horticulture exhibition from Jiangsu. "The performances at the promotion event are very special and I am looking forward to traveling to Haikou."

The intangible cultural heritage shows and the exhibition on the international wetland city also won great acclaim from the public. Many visitors were able to enjoy Haikou's tourism scenery, cultural customs, and the unique natural environment of the international wetland city by using the AR interactive machine in the special AR Interactive Experience Zone of the horticultural expo.

Li Jing, an exhibition visitor from Shanghai, said that she felt elated and surprised watching the Haikou promotion events.

"This is the first time I have watched the Haikou tourism promotion video. I fully understood the six elements of eating, living, traveling, shopping, transportation, and entertainment in Haikou. The tasty food is very impressive," she said.
