Lingshui ranked among China's most beautiful shooting locations

Lingshui Li autonomous county in Hainan province was selected as one of China's top four most beautiful shooting locations at a promotion activity held on May 16 during the 72nd Cannes Film Festival.

With its unique tropical scenery and humanistic resources, Lingshui Li autonomous county has become a favorite place for filmmakers from home and abroad.

Just like the small island called 007 next to Phuket in Thailand that was named after the film 007 and how Zhangjiajie Scenic Spot in Hunan province served as the prototype of the suspension mountain in the science fiction hit Avatar. Lingshui has also long been associated with film and television programs.

The film The Song of Lingshui, which was just shortlisted at the 7th Vancouver International Chinese Film Festival in Canada, has fully blended in the autonomous county's cultural elements such as Lingshui Diaoluo Mountain National Forest Park, Boundary Island, and Qingshui Bay. The movie tells a tortuous love story between a young Chinese man Zheng Yujie and Russian college student Anna, while also reflecting on the friendship between the two countries.

Crossing the 18thparallel north latitude provides unique natural advantages to Lingshui. There are three famous bays named Perfume Bay, Qingshui Bay, and Tufu Bay on the coastline of Lingshui. Qingshui Bay is famous for its "singing beach", named due to the crisp sound that is made when people step on the beach's exquisite sand.

Lingshui also boasts three islands, Nanwan Monkey Island, Coconut Island, and Boundary Island that have their own characteristics. Boundary Island is one of the most suitable diving spots in the eyes of international diving experts. The area has consistently been committed to the protection and cultivation of corals, which provide visitors the experience of diving into the island's fish. Nanwan Monkey Island is famous for possessing more than 2,500 lovely macaques.

As the birthplace of the first red political power in Hainan, Lingshui still retains the historical remains of the civil revolutionary war period. It is also a good studio for shooting historical subjects with the further improvement of the red tourism base at Po village.

Lingshui's stunning appearance at the Cannes Film Festival has opened a charming window to show China's tropical customs to the world. With the promotion of the China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the construction of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics, Hainan's opening up to the outside world has been further advanced. As it becomes more well known, Lingshui is expected to usher in a booming period of exchange and cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, and society.
