The Haikou Integrated Free Trade Zone jointly launched the National Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Innovation Alliance in Shenzhen on April 24 with 21 domestic FTZs.

The members will set up the bond and bridge of multi-cooperation and communication together.

The alliance will focus on innovation research, evaluation, training, and exchanges, as well as the establishment of innovation funds. It plans to become comprehensive by 2022 after attracting government institutions, enterprises, and think tanks in coastal, border, and inland areas and make an important impact on innovation in institutions, the scientific, and technological industry, as well as on economic and trade rules.

The alliance will establish a multilevel, wide-ranging, and broad-area cooperation model with a trans-regional cooperation system. It will widely promote the reform and innovation experience, highlight model roles in promoting regional economic development, and demonstrate supporting roles in national strategies such as innovation-driven development, the Belt and Road Initiative, and civil-military integration.

The Haikou Integrated Free Trade Zone, the pioneer of the China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, will contribute to FTZ innovation by integrating into the new pattern of China's FTZ innovative development, exploring innovative systems, and absorbing new experiences.
