Anticipation builds for Boao Forum for Asia

The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2019 will be held in Boao, Hainan province from March 26 to 29 and will include a total of 66 formal events focusing five different types of international issues.

This year, the forum will be richer in content and focus on a more diverse array of topics concerning the global economy, multilateralism, regional cooperation, global governance, innovation, development, and up-to-date hotspots.

The event will consist of 33 forums, 16 round-table talks, six TV forums, and five themed dinners and press conferences. The press will focus on a variety of topics, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, free trade zones, and free trade ports.

Over 1,700 official representatives will attend, including 82 Chinese officials above the provincial level. Executives of central State-owned enterprises, 10 foreign former politicians, 50 foreign ministerial-level officials and international organization directors, and 186 business leaders will also attend.

A total of 4,337 people have registered for the forum and 168 media organizations from 35 countries will be present, including more than 300 foreign journalists.
