National Youth Games surfing competition held in Hainan

The second National Youth Games surfing competition kicked off in Wanning, Hainan, on Feb 20 and will end on March 1, according to the local cultural and sports department. 

Over 500 contestants in 40 teams from around the country competed at Riyue Bay.

This year marks the first time the National Youth Games has held a surfing competition. It is taking place before the opening ceremony, which will be held in Shanxi province in August.
