Hainan Airlines carry 11.4% more passengers in 2018

Hainan Airlines Holdings Co Ltd and its subsidiaries carried 79.88 million passengers in 2018, up 11.4 percent year-on-year.

In an unaudited filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange late Tuesday, Hainan Airlines said the group transported 559,140 tons of cargo and mail last year, an annual increase of 16.7 percent.

In December, China's fourth-largest airlines carried 6.4 million passengers, down 1.52 percent month-on-month and up 3.68 percent year-on-year.

Last month, the group transported 54,750 tons of cargo and mail, up 5.3 percent month-on-month and 17.9 percent year-on-year.

Its passenger load factor stood at 84.5 percent last year, an annual decline of 1.5 percent. Its cargo load factor was at 43 percent, an annual increase of 1.8 percent.

By the end of 2018, the group has a fleet of 463 aircraft.

Shares of Hainan Airlines opened flat at 1.93 yuan Wednesday in Shanghai.
