Hainan province recently initiated a pilot program to carry out trustworthiness incentive measures in Sanya's tourism industry, according to the Hainan Development and Reform Commission.

The credit information sharing platform of the China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone will be used to offer trustworthy tourists greater convenience and discounts in the fields of accommodation, traffic, catering and shopping. The move aims to enhance integrity and interaction between service providers and consumers, creating value-orientated services based on the importance of credit.

The pilot period will last from August this year to next June and will target individual tourists. Those with high sincerity may be able to take shuttle buses for free, be offered discounted tickets, buy tickets in special windows, enter scenic spots via shortcuts, be free of deposits and be presented with gifts.

The program also explicitly regulates the establishing of a trustworthy tourist database, a dishonesty tracing and discipline system, a guarantee mechanism, and a promotion mechanism.
