Enjoying the moon at the seaside has always been the most popular way to spend Mid-Autumn Festival for both locals and tourists. Haikou's Holiday Beach and Xixiu Beach are both stunning and offer spectacular views, as do Dadonghai Bay and Sanya Bay in Sanya. Shimei Bay and Qingshui Bay are also good choices for families.

With the horizon stretching out into the distance and the city down below, the tops of mountains are a perfect place for admiring the moon. Luhuitou Scenic Spot in Sanya offers a view of the island's mountains, seas, rivers, roads, bridges and bays, creating a romantic atmosphere for lovers. While there you can also take a bath in the hot springs or pay a visit to Guanlan Lake Hot Spring in Haikou, the Zhujiang River Nantian Hot Spring in Sanya or the Qixianling Hot Spring in Baoting.
