Haiken Evcoming New Energy Rental Car Service made its official launch in Haikou, provincial capital of Hainan province on July 19 according to a report in the Hainan Daily.

The service provider will open 18 agencies in Haikou and Sanya with an initial target of operating 4,000 new energy cars to promote low-carbon commuting options in Hainan.

By leveraging Hainan's geographical position, Haiken Evcoming New Energy Car Service aims to cut down on waste in social resources and lower the usage cost incurred by repairs or replacements.

Zhao Xi, general manager of the service provider, said that the main service will focus on car rentals along island-looping high-speed train stations. By building a customer-to-customer (C2C) sharing ecology and an intelligent online car rental platform, the company expects to promote greener commuting options and set up a green energy supply system marked by safety, low-carbon, and high efficiency.

Haiken Evcoming seeks to expand by launching an hourly car rental platform in an effort to meet the needs of tourists. The number of rental cars is planned to increase to 20,000 in 2019 and 50,000 by 2020.
