Over 2,000 participants took part in the Wenchang stop of a running competition on May 13 held to celebrate Hainan's 30th anniversary of building up the province and the special economic zone.

The event aimed to promote deep integration of sports, culture and tourism, develop a fitness-for-all sports brand and to reveal the locals' positive mental outlook.

Wenchang arranged routes passing famous local tourist attractions such as Bamen Bay, Gaolong Bay, Dongjiao Coconut Forest, Mangrove Forest, and the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center, which allowed participants to appreciate the unique charm of Wenchang and take note of the city's development achievements.
