According to Bai Mudi, a representative of the festival's organizing committee, the international gala featuring diversity aims to attract world advanced musicians and musical industries to settle down in Sanya and promote Chinese music and culture to the world.

Sanya's Deputy Mayor Xu Zhenling said at the opening ceremony that Sanya's target is to become a world-level tropical and coastal tourism city. The integration of culture and tourism is a demand of the developing tourism industry and is also a requirement of progressing diverse culture. The ISY Music Festival marks a new beginning of Sanya's tourism innovation and is also an important measure assisting lateral structural reform in the tourism industry.
