Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival closes

The 18th Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival closed recently in south China's Hainan Province.

Hainan, China's southernmost offshore island, is a popular resort known for its tropical climate and alluring seas. 

The one-month festival is the largest one in recent years.

It featured 118 activities across the island, attracting a record number of participants from home and abroad.

The festival aimed to create a platform to present the latest development of Hainan's tourism industry, promote new tourism products, and explore new tourism routes.

As one of the highlights of the festival, the 2017 Hainan World Leisure Tourism Expo, has attracted more than 170,000 visitors.

And its transaction volume of intent reached 350 million yuan.

Various cultural activities, such as dancing performed by local ethnic group, sports competitions and traditional food expo, have provided visitors with opportunities to experience Hainan's unique culture.
