Haikou, capital of Hainan province, held an academic symposium on breeding and industrial technologies of bougainvillea spectabilis on Aug 14 with the participation of over 70 experts from India and China.
During the three-day symposium, experts exchanged insights of Hainan's bougainvillea spectabilis industry development, breeding technologies, and innovations.
The bougainvillea spectabilis, also known as great bougainvillea, is a species of flowering plant. It has become the largest landscape plant in South China, and plays an important role in the field of ornamental horticulture.
