COSCO Container Lines Co Ltd plans to open a liner route linking Yangpu in Hainan province with Yangon in Myanmar on June 18, according to the Department of Transportation of Hainan Province.

Three 1,300 TEU (20-foot standard container) vessels will be put into use, offering speedy direct services from Hainan to Singapore, Myanmar, and Malaysia.

The route will contribute to Hainan's economic development and opening up efforts, acting as transit shipment for customers in other parts of the country and in Northeast Asia.

By connecting Yangpu Port with those in Yangon and Pasir Gudang in Malaysia, it increases the number of Yangpu's direct route destinations in Southeast Asia. It will also, form a foreign trade shipping network by connecting Yangpu Port with major ports domestically in the future.
